Pirate Fourth of July Pops

Had to incorporate a birthday into our National Birthday, plus pirate pops AND cupcakes, for a 5yr old who LOVES strawberry & agreed to lemon drop cupcakes- HERE was our end result... Apple pie stars included!

Pie Pops

Something a bit different for a change...

Get your ready made pie crust rolled out and choose your favorite cookie cutter~

Next get your filling ready- (buy from a can or make by simmering fruit and adding water and sugar)
Add the tiniest bit to the center of the cookie cut-out
Place the stick in the filling and close to the top as best able. And yes, the paper and wood can go in your oven!
Now use the second piece to place over your original piece as seen below, then use a fork or a stick to make impressions around and seal your pie-
Brush over the top only with egg whites, but don't be overly generous. Bake at 325 for 25 min or so- keep and eye on it!
